COLDPLAY – USEFUL INFORMATION

PLAN AHEAD FOR AN EARLY ARRIVAL

If you are coming outside Coimbra on the day of the show, we strongly recommend you make the necessary arrangements to arrive in the city during the morning, as it is expected that in the afternoon there will be a large flow of traffic that could make it difficult and delay your arrival in time for the show. We want you to enjoy the show from the beginning.

At what time do the doors open?
The perimeter of the enclosure opens at 4 pm and the doors of Estádio Cidade de Coimbra open at 5 pm.
The show starts at 6.45 pm.

4 – HOW TO GET THERE

The use of public transport is recommended.

Click here for all the information about the SMTUC (Coimbra Urban Transport) network and the train services by CP – Comboios de Portugal.

To access the SMTUC network there will be a special bracelet for the days of the Coldplay show. It will cost €4 (four euros) and is on sale at mobile and fixed points, including next to the start of routes and on buses. Payment can be made by card at any of these points of sale – bus included. The ticket allows you to use public transport throughout the entire day of the concert.

Four Special Circuits are scheduled, starting/passing through Coimbra-B Station, the main peripheral parking areas, the FlixBus stop and the Central de Camionagem (road station), which will support both arrival movements in Coimbra ( from 11:00 am) or return (until around 1:30 am the following day). The times indicated for the start of the service are merely indicative and may change.

After the event, in addition to the special circuits, reinforcements that are deemed appropriate will be carried out, giving priority to connections to Coimbra-B Station (CIRCUIT 1), whose return route to the station starts at Rua General Humberto Delgado, in order to guarantee an adequate response. to the schedules of the special trains provided by CP, connecting Lisbon and Braga.

In order to facilitate the identification of the lines of the special circuits, by the passengers, the departure point (return) of each line will be the same as the arrival point at Estádio Cidade de Coimbra. For more information, see the page provided by the Coimbra City Council, here.

 

If you arrive by car, it is recommended that at least three people travel in each car to reduce traffic congestion and speed up parking.

The Portuguese Police (PSP) suggests the following alternatives to the A1 motorway exist closer to Coimbra:

  • If you are coming from the South, in addition to the Coimbra-Sul exit, please consider the Condeixa exit and also the possibility of using the A13 motorway.
  • If you are coming from the North, in addition to the Coimbra-Norte exit, please consider the Mealhada exit and then follow the IC2.

Click here for the parking solutions offered by the Coimbra Municipality to be used by all visitors. It is recommended that you travel to the stadium via the SMTUC (Coimbra Urban Transport) network.

It is also advisable to use transport applications for the use of electric bicycles or scooters. During the days of the Coldplay show, there will be an increase in the offer of this type of transport.

5 – FAQs

What should I do BEFORE HEADING to the show?
– Check that you have your ticket(s) for the correct show date. Also, check that the barcode is readable. If not, please go to the box office to have it replaced by another in good condition.
– Plan your arrival according to the directions and accesses provided by the Police and the Coimbra Municipality, and follow the instructions given for a safe journey.
– Arrive early at the venue for greater convenience. There are many catering points inside and outside the stadium, and card payment is available.
– Prepare according to the weather forecast. In case of heat stay hydrated and protected. Don’t forget warm clothes for the night.- Download the APP’s Moovit – for information about public transport circuits and Special Circuits and other mobility guidelines; and Waze – with all the details about car parks and traffic restrictions in the city of Coimbra.

Are there any TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS in Coimbra?
Yes. There are two defined perimeters.
The 1st perimeter, next to the stadium, will only be possible to circulate on foot with a ticket for the show. This perimeter is defined in the following streets: Rua do Estádio; Rua D. Manuel I (from the Alma Shopping loading and unloading pier); Rua D. João III; Rua Jorge Anjinho (between Rua D. João III and Rua João de Deus Ramos).
The 2nd perimeter, located in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, will have traffic prohibited for personal transportation. Only public transport, TVDEs, Uber Eats and Glovo, residents’ vehicles for home access, access to Alma Shopping and bicycles will be allowed. There are exceptions for those who have a distich of a person with a disability.
The police have several control points throughout this area of ​​the city, assessing each situation that may arise regarding access by residents or support for businesses/services.

Where can I leave my vehicle?
There are 16 car parks free of payment that can be used by visitors to the city of Coimbra. Consult the map and locations of the parks here.

Where can I leave my belongings?
There are four doors with cloakroom service where you can leave your belongings, which has a cost of 1€ per piece. However, when you head to the show, please avoid carrying unnecessary items, in order to make the process of personal search easier.

If I leave the stadium during the show, can I re-enter?
No.

Can I enter the Stadium after the begging of the show?
Yes and until 15 minutes before the end of the show.

Are there any AGE restrictions for this show?
Yes, the concert is rated for 6 years old and up.

Can I enter the Stadium with a backpack?
Only one small bag/backpack no larger than 40cm x 30cm x 15cm is allowed per person. Please check forbidden items above.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages to the show?
No. Alcoholic beverages cannot be brought into the stadium. Please see the list of forbidden items.

Can I bring food to the concert?
It is possible to bring food as long as it is not in boxes or other objects that can be thrown.

If I lose any personal items, what can I do?
You should go to the Police station located at Rua D. Manuel I. See the map above for its exact location.

I need FIRST AID, who can I ask for help?
Please go to the Stadium stewards and/or security guards, who will seek Medical Assistance for you.

Important information regarding RESALE and INVALID TICKETS
Any tickets purchased from third parties or unofficial outlets may be considered invalid, as they may have been falsified or sold twice and one of them has already entered the venue. Tickets purchased on unofficial websites, such as Viagogo, StubHub or Ticketswap, may prevent you from entering the show for the reasons mentioned above.
